Westwood Alumni Scholarship

Who Are We?

The Westwood Alumni Scholarship (“WAS”) is an Arizona Nonprofit corporation organized to provide opportunities for Westwood students to achieve post-secondary education. WAS provides multiple scholarships to students based on various criteria. WAS is run by volunteer alumni to ensure that all donations go to scholarships.

The Scholarships

AP Scholars Scholarship

The AP Scholars scholarship will be awarded to students who plan to attend college, university, technical school, or trade school. The student must also be a member of the AP Scholars program at Westwood and answer the question: How does the AP Scholars program benefit the Westwood community?

AVID Scholarship

The AVID scholarship will be awarded to students who plan to attend college, university, technical school, or trade school. The student must also be a member of the AVID program at Westwood and answer the question: How does the Westwood AVID program benefit the Westwood community?

Healthcare Scholarship

The Healthcare scholarship will be awarded to students who plan to attend college, university, technical school, or trade school and major in a healthcare related field. The student must also answer the question: Tell us about a time that impacted you or inspired you to pursue a degree in the medical field.

Donations

  • How do I donate?

To donate, visit the Mesa United Way website here:

In the "Agency Designation" box, put: Westwood Alumni Scholarship, you will not need to include an address. Without adding this designation, your donation will automatically go to United Way’s general fund.

  • Can I donate with a group?

Yes! If you can get a large enough group of people together you can pool your money to donate as a group. The group can then present the scholarship that they have funded when the other scholarships are presented.

This could be a great idea for a family gift, or a competition between neighborhoods or reunion years.
